Is your morning coffee to black?
Well, add cream to lighten,
It can be found right on any store�s sale rack,
Add as much as you wish,
For the desired color and texture.
Is your coffee too strong?
And very hot to taste?
Does it discolor your teeth?
And stain your sheets?
The instructions say add cream to lighten.
Skin bleaching formulas have more sales than morning soap,
And more followers than the Pope.
The coffee that both woke you up and kept you up,
You now say leaves a sour and bitter taste in your mouth.
To fix that you add cream to lighten and spark flavor,
Who told you in order to be bright?
You needed to be light?
Your mind has been miss-educated,
Your enemy miss-calculated,
Your identity miss-placed,
Through the cracks of your intelligence,
Ignorance has left its trace.
You disfigure your complexion to fit in,
When in actual fact you have ensured that you negatively stand out.
Dont cuss to me about white people's disrespect,
But rather lets talk about your culture and your heritage,
That blatantly you give no respect.
Aint no one holding you back but you,
If you ponder all that I've said,
You know my opinions and facts to be true.
Someone or something did you wrong,
By telling you that your coffee need not be dark, black and strong,
As I look at you,
My heart pities as well as shames you.
Paper is paper no matter what tint,
Black you are black,
No matter how much of your skin color you lint.
